Best Of 2010 Part 3

Murs & 9th Wonder - "Fornever"
Murs & 9th Wonder albums are always a mixed bag for me. Murs is an undeniably dope rapper, one of my favorites, so I'm obviously gonna like just about anything he does a lot, but I guess I don't really feel like 9th's production is the greatest fit for him. Also, there's always at least one super corny song on each of the albums they did together. I'm just nitpicking though, this album is bangin.
Guilty Simpson & Oh No - "Ghettodes"
2008's Ode To The Ghetto is one of the best albums of the decade to me, and this remix album does it justice. Oh No gave up some top notch beats for these remixes.
Jonsi - "Go"
I never really dug Sigur Ros all that much. I respect them, but I feel like their music is best heard while trying to fall asleep. I really have been digging this album and the Riceboy Sleeps one from last year too. Maybe I should go back and re-listen to some old Sigur Ros again to see if my opinion has changed or something.
Laurie Anderson - "Homeland"
I think this is the greatest thing she's ever done. Such a well made and well written album.
How To Destroy Angels - "How To Destroy Angels EP"
Trent Reznor producing a female singer, and that's exactly what it sounds like, and i'm not complaining one bit. Pretty awesome, i'd like a full length.
Jon LaJoie - "I Kill People"
Well done musical comedy. He kinda hits a lot of different senses of humor with all his different characters. You should just watch a bunch of his youtube clips if you've never heard of him before.
Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings - "I Learned The Hard Way"
Another stellar album from the new queen of soul in my eyes.
The Budos Band - "III"
As the title indicates, the third release from these guys. Very very nice instrumental funk. Not run of the mill at all, they bring a lot of influences to the table.
Strong Arm Steady - "In Search Of Stoney Jackson"
Madlib made all the beats on this, and he hooked it the fuck up. The emcees in this group (Krondon, Phil Da Agony, Mitchy Slick) never really did it for me, but these beats are so insane- who cares? Instrumental version also available.
Aziz Ansari - "Intimate Moments For A Sensual Evening"
He seems poised to be the next big stand-up comic in america and for good reason. He's a natural, he's got great timing, super funny matierial, and he's just generally likable.
RJD2 - "Inversions Of The Colossus"
I know this is the supplemental release to The Colossus, but I actually like it more. It's instrumenal versions of the vocal songs from The Colossus and then 6 more new songs. It seems like he's been listening to a lot of Ratatat or something with some of these sounds. I'm not complaining, this shit is tight.
Andre Nickatina - "Khan!- The Me Generation"
A triumphant comback album. This album is slightly more mainstream sounding than his old stuff, but he clearly hasn't changed his style at all. Classic Nickatina for sure.
